The index of stability of grain yield formation was determined. The publication of scientists of Uman National University of Horticulture includes works in the field of studying the quality of grain and grain products of cereals. This book will be useful to crop breeders working on new varieties of wheat, agronomists growing this important food crop, bread industry specialists, scientific and teaching staff, postgraduates and students of agricultural specialties and experts.

МатеріалAlternative Types of Fuel for Grain Drying(Springer, 2019) Осокіна, Ніна Максимівна ; Ткаченко, Геннадій Володимирович ; Євчук, Яна Валеріївна ; Григоренко, Олена ВіталіївнаWays to use alternative types of fuel for grain drying and quality requirements for fuel chips were presented in the article. The most widespread types alternative types of fuel are organic waste from cultivation and processing of agricultural crops (straw, grain cleaning waste, sunflower husk), as well as wood (logs, wood shaving, fuel chips, granules). Technical-and-economic grounds, technological scheme and working projects of a heat generator for combustion of fuel chips, pellets and a small amount of waste after wood processing industry (with knots and nails that cannot be crushed to chips) were developed. Constructive features, operating modes and comparative technical-and-economic indexes of log splitters and chopping machines for receiving fuel chips were showed. Influence of raw material on the geometric sizes of fuel chips was studied. It was established that actual maximum diameter of wood for both machines was lower than in the passport because there was wood of non-rectilinear form for combustion, with a large number of branches of fibrous structure. Fuel chips with a length of more than 100mm can cause an emergency stop of a screw conveyor. Output of a large fraction under processing of raw materials in the length of 1 m is higher than 2 m by 60 ... 100%.

МатеріалBLACK CURRANT PRODUCTIVITY FORMATION AS AFFECTED BY THE COMPONENTS OF CULTIVATION TECHNOLOGY(УНУС, 2021-10-08) Чернега, Андрій ОлеговичStudied in the experiment were the following components of cultivation technology for black currant: maintaining the soil between rows as black fallow or grassed; maintaining the rows as black fallow, mulched with straw or covered with polyethylene mulch film; foliar dressing in the budding stage with liquid suspended organic fertiliser Riverm at the concentrations of 1, 3 or 5% against the background of complete mineral fertiliser N60P90K90. According to the results of the research, it was found that the best growth and development of black currant plants was for maintaining the soil between rows as black fallow and maintaining the rows mulched with straw. Such practices activate the soil microbiota and facilitate the availability of nutrients to plants. Mulching with straw effectively protects against weeds, prevents damage to plants by tillage tools, and does not prevent rainfall from entering the soil. Accordingly, the best indicators of the maximum number of bunches of black currant (604) fruit number per bush (1315) were obtained in the treatment with maintaining the rows as black fallow and the use of fertiliser N 60P90 K90 (background) + Riverm 5 %. However, the highest fruit weight (1.66−1.74 g) was obtained in the treatment with maintaining the soil between rows as black fallow, the use of fertiliser background N60Р90K90 + Riverm 3 % or Riverm 5 %. In general, the use of mineral fertilisers along with foliar dressing using Riverm increased the fruit yield in the treatment with N60P90K90 + Riverm 3 % under maintaining the rows as black fallow and mulching the rows using the straw up to 13.44 t/ha; for the use of Riverm 5 %, the fruit yield was 13.28 t/ha.

МатеріалFodder productivity of different varieties of meadow clover depending on the elements of growing technology(Ukrainian Journal of Ecology, 2021) Demydas Hrihorii, Galushko Igor, Poltoretskyi Serhii, Novak Andrii, Liubych Vitalii, Poltoretska NataliiaThe research results for 2018–2020 on the formation of fodder productivity of the yield of the dry mass of different varieties of meadow clover from 1 ha depending on the sowing methods on different backgrounds of fertilizer on typical low-humus chernozems of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine were presented. On average, for the first three years of growth and use, meadow clover provided productivity of yield of the dry mass of 8.22–9.88 tons from 1 ha, which depended little on sowing methods. Productivity increased by 8–12 % when inoculating seed with nodule bacteria combined with the application of N60P60K90 compared with the variant without fertilizers and only by 4–6 % under separate application of fertilizers (Р60K90 or N60P60K90) or seeds inoculation on the background without fertilizers. The application of N60 on the background of Р60K90 provided the highest payback of 1 kg of fertilizer (6–7 kg of dry mass) among fertilizers. In the first year, sowing under cover of spring barley provided higher productivity by 22–25 %, and in the second and third years, coverless sowing was provided by 7–10 %. The most productive variety was Taifun, which was 0.10–0.66 t/ha of dry mass superior to Lybid and Tina varieties. The factor of fertilization was the most influential in yield of dry mass from 1 ha and the sowing method with a share proportion of 55 % in the first year. Meadow clover annually provided three mowings of fodder biomass with the share of the first mowing of 44–50 %, the second – 32–34 %, and the third – 18–24 %, and the uneven distribution of the yield by mowing by 30–47 %.

МатеріалGas chromatographic-mass spectrometric characteristics of essential oils of plants of the genus Pycnanthemum (Lamiaceae) and peculiarities of their application in practice(Studia Biologica/Львівський національний університет імені Івана Франка, Україна, 2023-06) Костецька Катерина ВасилівнаBackground. Not all plants are capable of producing essential oil (EO). There are 3.000 different plant EOs described in the world, but only 10 % of them are widely used by humans. In particular, perfumery and the food industry use the largest amount of natural EOs – 30 % and 40 % of the world production, respectively. A thorough study of EOs, knowledge of their components in both chemical and pharmacological sense will facilitate the improvement of the quality of human life. The purpose of our experimental study was to determine the EO potential of four species of the genus Pycnanthemum Michx. (Lamiaceae): P. montanum Michx., P. muticum (Michx.) Pers., P. tenuifolium Schrad., P. verticillatum var. pilosum (Nutt.) Cooperr. introduced in the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. The above plants are representatives of the flora of North America. Methods. The EOs were obtained in laboratory conditions by hydrodistillation using a Clevenger apparatus. The raw material of the plants – a blended mass of leaves, inflorescences and the herbaceous part of the stem was used in an air-dry state. Harvestingof raw materials was carried out during the flowering phase of plants. The EOs content is given in terms of an absolute dry weight. The identification of compounds and their amount in each EO was determined by the method of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results. In the conditions of the forest-steppe of Ukraine, the introduced species of plants of the genus Pycnanthemum show a high level of EOs biosynthesis – 0.53– 3.34 %. The dominant compounds common to the obtained essential oils are Pulegone, Isomenthone, and Isopinocamphone. The indicators of the content of pulegone exceed those of other compounds and reach 48.14–73.93 %. Pulegone is a controversial organic compound, since it exhibits a high biological activity and possesses pharmacological properties suitable for use in medical practice, but when cleaved, it forms toxic metabolites, in particular mentofuran. Conclusions. The obtained results indicate that plants of the genus Pycnanthemum, which are little known in Ukraine, have a high EO potential under the proposed growth conditions. Due to this, they are potential objects for use in domestic cultural phytocenoses. Considering the component composition of EOs with the dominant Pulegone, their consumption requires correct dosage.
