Biological control of phytophagous pests is an environmentally safe alternative to chemical impact on ecosystems. The most successful bioagent used to control insect pests is Bacillus thuringiensis. The objects of research were apple trees of the Jonagold variety. The quantitative composition of the main insect pests of the apple tree by species was determined. The strains of microorganisms were isolated from dead insects of natural populations of leaf-eating phytophagous insects of the orders Coleoptera, Hemiptera, and Lepidoptera. The effectiveness of new bioagents was compared with chemical and biological insecticides in the course of the studies. In the course of studies of the isolated strains, they were found to be able to inhibit the growth of some phytopathogenic fungi. It was shown that the studied strains BT-43, BT-18, and BT-52 have a fungistatic effect, and strain BT-10 has a fungicidal effect against Botrytis cinerea and Alternaria mali Roberts. The effectiveness of the treatment of apple orchards affected by phytophages with bioinsecticides based on selected promising strains of B. thuringiensis was tested. The strain BT-10 proved to be particularly effective against pests, the effect of which is almost equal to or superior to that of deltamethrin. Due to the high efficiency and entomocidal effectiveness against insects of Lepidoptera, it is advisable to use this biological product in the future in the system of control of leaf-eating phytophages. The treatment of apple trees with biological products contributed to a significantly higher yield than the control, which was the highest when treated with the BT-10 strain. Investigating the cost-effectiveness of the used apple protection products based on BT strains, it was shown that treatment with a chemical insecticide reduced the cost by 18% compared to the control. Thus, the research has shown that the treatment of apple plantations with pest and disease control agents is an integral element of the technology of growing and storage of fruits.

МатеріалEffect of superabsorbent on soil moisture, productivity and some physiological and biochemical characteristics of basil(Agronomy Research, 2021) VOROBIOVA, NATALIIA ; ULIANYCH, OLENAThe study was carried out in 2019–2020, in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The results on the influence of absorbents in gel and powder forms on the productivity of basil plants (Ocimum basilicum L.) are presented. For research were used field, laboratory, statistical and calculation-analytical methods. Absorbent in the form of a gel was used while transplanting: dip the roots of the plant in the solution and then transplant in the field. Absorbent in the form of a powder - 5 kg ha-1, application of the absorbent into the soil layer 20–25 cm-1. Absorbents contributed to a slight decrease of sugar content (-0.86–2.68% in the cultivar of Badioryi, -1.48–2.35% in the cultivar of Rutan), significantly decrease ascorbic acid (-8.6–20.1%) and content of the essential oil (8.0–19.4%) and indirectly increased essential oil yield by increasing fresh weight yield in both varieties.

In view of this, the purpose of this paper was to scientifically substantiate effects of biologicals containing bacterial strains of Pseudomonas aureofaciens B-111 (IBM B-7096) and Pseudomonas aureofaciens B-306 (IBM B-7097) as well as spores and mycelium of the fungus Trichoderma viride on the yield and qualityof shallot bulbs. To achieve the purpose, the following objectives were set: to investigate biometric parameters ofshallot plants depending on biological treatments, to determine the yield and to evaluate the impact of the biologicals on the biochemical composition of bulbs. The biologicals increased in the mean bulb weight by 6–15% andthe plant height by 9–15%. The total yield was raised by up to 16.2%. The share of marketable yield was increasedby 1.2–7.0%. There was a slight increase in the ascorbic acid content in bulbs (by 3–22%) and a slight decreasein the dry matter content (0.24–1.35%). A slight decrease in the total sugar content was observed (by 0.16–1.76%,depending on biologicals and shallot cultivars). Keywords: shallot, yield, quality, biologicals, effectiveness.

There are many sorts of table beet, different by root form. Most widespread are ones of the round and cylindrical forms. At the same time plants of table beet at growing form roots of different masses. The aim of the study was to investigate the storage life of table beet depending on form and root sizes. The conducted studies give a possibility to substantiate scientifically an influence of table beet’ form and sizes on their storage life for determining its term. It has been established, that roots of the round form of the Kharkiv Bordo sort lost moisture more intensively at the expanse of breath and evaporation – 4.4–5.4 %. In the Vital sort with roots of the cylindrical form, mass natural losses were 4.1–5.1 %. At that more natural mass losses were in small roots with mass 150–300 g. Small roots were more inclined to sprouting at storage. Among sprouted roots, 1.6–1.8 % were small ones with mass 150– 300 g. More percent of sprouted roots was for ones with mass 500–700 g as 2.3–2.5 %. At that less percent of sprouted roots was in the Vital sort of the cylindrical form. Small roots with mass 150–300 g were more damaged by rots at storage – 10.4–12.3 %. Among roots of middle sizes, 6.0– 6.8 % were damaged by roots, among big ones – 4.5–4.7 %. It must be also noted, that cylindrical roots of the Vital sort were less damaged by rots at storage than round ones of the Kharkiv Bordo sort.
