Description: Аннотация. Рассмотрены проблемы производства продукции скотоводства и определены пути повышения ее конкурентоспособности. Ключевые слова: животноводство, молочное, мясное скотоводство,производительность, конкурентоспособность, эффективность. Annotation. The issues of livestock production output at the enterprises of Kalynivka district, Vinnytsia region were considered. Satisfying the needs of the population for the animal food products, among which livestock production output takes the prominent place, is of great significance in the provision of the country with food products. The development of livestock production is poor or completely absent due to insufficient support by the state, low prices, out of date technologies at most enterprises. According to the researchers’ opinion the concentration of production at the farm enterprises of different organizational-legal forms, including individual farms, is a perspective way of the development of livestock production. Herewith, the economic activity in livestock production should be carried out in close cooperation with individual farms basing on cooperative and integration links. The development of most researched enterprises needs changes in the enterprises’ industrial structure, reduction of the amounts of crop production output, reasonable alternative use of resources and ensuring profitability along with the rational combination of the industries. The formation of associated forms of agrarian business, where individual farms would be potential associated members, should become the basis for such cooperation. Therefore, the combination of the efficiency and state support of the development of milk and meat production will make it possible to enlarge the production of competitive produce. The most effective development of livestock production can be based on the application of new technologies, rapid revival of the neglected complexes specializing in livestock fattening,adequate ration, reduction of production costs and improvement of the product quality.
